TOPIC, The transformation of land institution in China: historical reference
and revelation
SPEAKER, Professor LONG Denggao,Tsinghua University
ABOUT THE SPEAKER, Professor Denggao Long is Vice Dean of Institute of
Economics, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Tsinghua
University.Beijing. He is also the Principal expert of the Major project of
National foundation of Social Sciences, China. He has been the visiting scholar
or guest professor at Harvard University, Yale University, K.U.Leuven, Chengchi
Universty and Sinica Academy in Taiwan, and currently in the University of
Cambridge.
CONTENT, There have been four revolutions and transformations of land
institution in last hundred years in China, accordingly the great
changes in China’s social and economic system. In the meantime, the
institutional heritage of traditional land system in the last thousand
years has been in a new review to its unique features and contributions
to Chinese history supported huge population with limited land. There
will be great enlightenment and reference to the land reform in China
today from the historic heritage and academic exploration.

凡此将为当前的土改探索提供不可替代的历史借鉴和理论启示,无论是思想观念、意识形态,还是经济制度,乃至具体措施。
