Just FYI, I have several new-to-me games that i'm going to bring: * Comuni (3-5p) * Bushido (3-5p) * Steam over Holland (2-5p)
I've opened these (!), punched or prepared them (!), and will be able to teach/play. I've not played any of them. They all seem to want 4 players. Comuni: Mostly auctions/efficiency fare. Probably an instant has-been. Bushido: Role assignment is the big deal here (the active player assigns roles to others). This is probably an experience game. The second prominent feature is a very unpredictable (although not really random) combat system, which indicates to me that combat really plays second fiddle to the role assignment part. This game has the most and the most convoluted rules of the three, but I've read the rulebook through (twice) and feel good about getting through it more or less smoothly. Steam over Holland: It's designed to be a *relatively* simple and quick 18xx -- it's actually turn limited, which AFAIK is unprecedented for the system. Anyone looking for an intro to 18xx, this seems like an *excellent* choice (again, I have NOT played this). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "utah county boardgamers association" group.
