Yeah, I've compiled this from the base gcc-4.2.2.atmel.1.0.8 plus these 
additional patches from the avr32linux.org site.

I'm happy to help. Unfortunately I have a deadline looming and need to get 
something working in the short term so I'm running with the redundant 
dprintf() as a band-aid.

I know this isn't a real solution but I have other issues (in my application) 
which are show-stoppers that I need to work on first. Finding & fixing the 
root cause of this bug can come later.
