Don't know.

Yes, it now works right if I remove the O_DIRECT flag.  As a matter of
fact it turns out that there's a configure flag --disable-o_direct for
that, and that Debian uses it on arm&hppa&mips, so that's probably
unrelated to uClibc but also appears with glibc (it's probably a kernel
bug).
