It is perfectly possible to run linuxthreads on a 2.6 kernel. It may not be possible to run NPTL on older kernels though. > Please another question: I heard that NPTL is much more efficient in thread > creation and scheduling. Is that correct? NPTL is to some degree more efficient and more standards compliant than linuxthreads. I would suggest you benchmark your particular application however. > Alessio Stella > (+39)051 642 3319 > R&D / Machine SW > G.D > Via Emilia Ponente 49 - 40011 Anzola Emilia - Bologna - Italy > Headquarters: Via Battindarno 91 - 40133 Bologna Italy > www.gidi.it > > > > > --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Le informazioni contenute in questo messaggio di posta elettronica, > allegati inclusi, sono riservate e confidenziali e ne è vietata la > diffusione in qualunque modo eseguita.
