No I am not prelinking the application on target. I am cross prelinking it
on host.
I don't think the uClibc support cross prelinking.
If you want prelink your application you should use prelink tool utility on
target side.

After I replace the libraries in lib folder the target keeps rebooting. It
never reaches command prompt.
and i am using libs from "uClibc-master" compiled with
"mipsel-linux-uclibc-gcc (Broadcom stbgcc-4.5.3-1.2) 4.5.3"

Yes I my application is simple Hello World application.

I suppose you are prelinking your application on target.

Could you provide further details on failure?
Are you able to prelink and run a simple Hello World application?
Be aware on master there are some opened issue on prelink support in uClibc
I hope to fix early, even if mips arch shouldn't be impacted.
