We use that version without any problems ? We also use ssl-0.9.8d at the moment. I think I posted patches to the list a long time back to put this into the dist. Looks like our systems build this stuff, obviously the compiler is happy with the _res symbolds being te hsame and merging them as common. The m68k toolchain may be having an issue with this and it could be due to the elf2flt stuff, not sure.
