Uhmm  could you supply us the node the* ls -al  /dev/swspi *results of your
system, ehhh the -9 errno code value means that the file descriptor returned
from the kernel side is not valid one to perform read/write operations...
Check it writing a dummy  read procedure and request also the read system
call from your test program, the uClinux OS should also return the 9 errno
code if the device node is really wrong built.
Another check, write also another dummy ioctl driver entry and try to access
from the  probe test..
