I suspect it's historical.  Greg just started
releasing the -big patch (because a bunch of use were
asking 8)).  He has been releasing the other patch for
some time.  I suspect reason is historical; I'm sure
Greg will let us know the real reason.

I'm 98% sure you can use either. 8)  My target has a
MMU so I only use -big.  However, it appears that
everything is in -big.
