We are using the IXP425 based custom board with the PDC20275 IDE controller, USB host controller on the PCI Bus. The CF card and Hard disk are on the primary and secondary channels of the IDE controller. We are using snapgear-3.2 distribution with linux-2.4.27 kernel and the IDE drivers from the configuration. We were calculating the throughput of CF on the board by mounting CF with "-o sync" option. These are our results. IO-default (16-bit) (mount -o sync /dev/hda1 /mnt/cf) Read: 10Mbps (Mega bits per second) Write: 4-4.5Mbps But the expected throughput of the CF should be 40Mbps (write) and 48Mbps (read) according to the specifications of the CF card. So, what is the expected throughput of the CF card on the PCI bus (33 MHz)? And also what can be done to increase the throughput of the CF card on this board. Thanks for your time. Regards, Mohan.
