Dear User Group:

Is SNMP agent software available under UC Linux ?
If so, your insight about the following issues would be appreciated.
(i.e. I only need to use to subset of the agent used to encode/decode
and transfer SNMP messages over a UDP connection. In other
works MIB management is not necessary.)

* Stability under UC Linux version 2.4.27--with a 2.4.x kernel,
  and subsequent releases.

* Running SNMP over UDP.

* Memory usage.

* Does it provide a callable library interface ?

* Does in need to run as a Linux daemon/server and/or accept
  incoming connections from another system ?

* Is it SNMP V2 compatibility.

* Difficulty of configuration.

I noticed there is a user/net-snmp directory under
the 2.4.27 UC Linux tree and suspect it is what
I am looking for. Also, the following options
in the config/config.in look relevant to configuring
SNMP for my purposes.

CONFIG_USER_UCD_SNMP_D
CONFIG_USER_SGSNMP_AGENT
CONFIG_USER_SGSNMP_UDP

Any insight about how to use these options or
others to suite my purposes would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Paul R.
