It would be great if Microtronix will release newer uClinux SDK. But I couldn't find it on their web. It seems they have shifted their product lines away. It is possible to run Microtronix SDK release v1.4 on later Quartus 7+ by changing some of the paths.

That does not seem to be true any more.

I want to design a device with a Cyclon III FPGA. Thus I need Quartus 7+, which of course is not usable with the old Microtronix stuff. My Altera dealer lately did a demonstration with the Microtronix SDK running with Quartus 7. So they do have an upgrade, that seemingly is going to be released soon.
