Robert, As you seem to be knowledgeable <g>:
I don't intend to use i2c-gpio, but supposedly I'll want to use a hardware based I²C interface (3rd party IP module or homebrew) with my future NIOS project. I suppose a driver for same is included in the NIOS distribution anyway.
But I'm absolutely lost with the question about the upper layers of the "I²C-Stack". In "master" mode, is there a kind of "I²C subsystem" (similar to USB) so that there is a driver for the I²C communication hardware that is used commonly for all attached I²C devices and additional drivers dedicated for each I²C device, using the API of the subsystem ?
I will have a (standard or non-standard) realtime clock and several data acquisition and output chips at the I²C bus and I'd like to know what is involved in doing the appropriate drivers for same.
Thanks a lot for any answers, -Michael _______________________________________________ uClinux-dev mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/listinfo/uclinux-dev This message was resent by [email protected] To unsubscribe see: http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/options/uclinux-dev
