The response shouldn't be rude, this should continue to be the "World's friendliest mailing list" [(c) by Phil, a long time ago]. Rude behaviour just leads to absolutely useless flame wars. When looking into the mailing list archives on uclinux.org or marc.theaimsgroup.com everybody can see what a mess those HTML messages produce, besides some people having trouble to read them in their mail client. Gregg's suggestion sounds very good for me. (... bottom posted too!!)
