There are certain portions of code including jffs2 that occupy a great deal of kernel time. They prevent the watchdog from being kicked and can cause a reset.
You could modify the jffs2 code to be more interruptible. The easier method might be to increase the amount of time before a watchdog reset. - Jate S. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Teun Grinwis Sent: Monday, December 17, 2007 9:12 AM To: Uclinux-Dev Subject: [uClinux-dev] Coldfire HW watchdog timer module Hello all, I use uClinux distribution 20070130 patched to version 2.16.21-uc0 on MCF5208 uP, with flash file jffs2. For boot I customized dBUG from Freescale. I want to use hw watchdog timer module (WTM) (max 6.4s). At startup of the boot I enable the WTM, since (supervisor r/w). By regularly feeding the WTM in dBUG (via timer), I manage to reach the point where uClinux is started. At this point I feed the WTM and disable irq's (timer irq). Now uClinux is started (should be within 6.4s). Just after I mount the jffs2 flash filesystem: Command: mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock3 /mnt The board resets with: Last reset: Watchdog Timer, Question: Does anybody has suggestions to prevent reset by WTM?? Thanks in advance for your info Regards Teun Grinwis _______________________________________________ uClinux-dev mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/listinfo/uclinux-dev This message was resent by [email protected] To unsubscribe see: http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/options/uclinux-dev ************************************************************************ ************ This footnote confirms that this email message has been scanned by PineApp Mail-SeCure for the presence of malicious code, vandals & computer viruses. ************************************************************************ ************ _______________________________________________ uClinux-dev mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/listinfo/uclinux-dev This message was resent by [email protected] To unsubscribe see: http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/options/uclinux-dev
