Hi Erwin,
has vmlinux-armv-rom.lds.in been removed for deleted from the distro?
I don't recall removing it. Possible but unlikely.
if I remember correctly it has never been in uClinux-dist. It was a
quick hack that I made for Atmel/AT91, and it required manual copying
the correct ld file to vmlinux-armv.ld.in. If you are interested, you
can find the xip patch for 2.4.27 here:
http://cvs.home.at/midori/sources/linux-2.4.27-uc1/xip.patch
Yep, i got it yesterday. I noted you had two versions on that sight.
The one you noted as being the latest (other for 2.4.20). Is it just a
change in the memory map or section relocations? Did look into it
closely, though on my list of things to do. ttyl
Hi Greg,
The last mention of it in the ML archive is in Dec of 2006 and for
version 2.4. Does this not apply to 2.6 as well?
It wouldn't apply to 2.6.x kernels. The linker script is just
a single file for each arch. Support for ROM/RAM of otherwise
is done conditionally in the arch linker script.
Ok, thanks again for the tip. I will look at it form this approach as
well. ttyl
all,
Nice to communicate with knowledgeable guys on this stuff. :) - bob
