what do you get when entering the command

I can create a folder under /var/tmp, but I want to login as a root
because my goal it's to compile a simple application under uClinux(with
skyeye),
for instance "hello world" on my emulator with gcc or other compilator. and
obviously, my core does not know this command of compilation GCC.
So i should import gcc to my core ...?
how I can proceed, which are the stages I can follow? there isa link which can
help me ? and thank you for you helps in advance.
