How much ram have you got? The setting for the maximum number of file-handlers 
in in /proc/fs/file-max, according to linux/Documents/filesystems/proc.txt 
this values is 10% of your RAM in kilobytes by default. You can increase it 
that number temporally by running this command echo N > /proc/fs/file-max
