I thought the standard fix for C++ and threads is to use the gdbserver in the toolchain, not the one in the distro. (Of course, that assumes that your toolchain includes it!)
I don't understand.
I assume for NIOS the tool chain and the distr is quite the same thing (the installation of the tool chain contains e.g. a gcc3, a linux-2.6, a toolchain-build and a uClinux-distr directory.
When compiling the Kernel, the gdb server is included in the Kernel. The gdb-server has bee done for the processor architecture (I think by Thomas Chou). I don't think that there is a choice to use another source code for same.
