I'm not awaye of any significant differences in the allocators from 2.4.17, 2.4.24 or 2.4.37. The email you attached says that fragmentation got worse (from 2.4.17 to 2.4.24), but the response says the only change was putting small blocks at the start and large ones at the end, instead of the other way around. I don't see how that would make a difference to fragmentation. Perhaps the questioner made some other changes, like changing the default allocator? Perhaps VM tuning parameters were changed - that makes a difference depending on workload. I haven't tried 2.4.37, only 2.4.26. I wouldn't expect a big change in behaviour, but the only way to be sure is try it. - Jamie _______________________________________________ uClinux-dev mailing list uClinux-dev@uclinux.org http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/listinfo/uclinux-dev This message was resent by uclinux-dev@uclinux.org To unsubscribe see: http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/options/uclinux-dev
