To comment on the Colinux issue. I use a dual-boot setup (XP on one HDD and Ubuntu on a 2nd HDD). Although I prefer to boot straight into Linux, I dabbled around with Colinux a bit some time ago. I found that it worked great, resource usage seemed quite reasonable. To set the record straight, the comments on Colinux are that it doesn't work on a dual-boot machine... nonsense, it worked fine for me. Once you have SSH & TAP sorted out properly, you're running with your command line. Once the DISPLAY issue is sorted out, you can get your complete desktop for your Linux system from within XP. I used Xming and had great results with that. It gave me the GNOME Ubuntu desktop within XP - while of course you can do native Linux compiles from within XP. All in all, cross compiling of course is faster when booted direct into Linux, but it works surprisingly well from Colinux. Nowadays I hardly boot into XP anymore, I constantly find myself booting into Ubuntu rather than XP.... (unless I explicitly need Win of course). PS : I change the HDD boot preference in my BIOS to select whether I boot XP or Ubuntu, just to clarify, they are 2 physically separate HDDs) -- Best regards, Kris _______________________________________________ uClinux-dev mailing list uClinux-dev@uclinux.org http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/listinfo/uclinux-dev This message was resent by uclinux-dev@uclinux.org To unsubscribe see: http://mailman.uclinux.org/mailman/options/uclinux-dev
