Hi Jim, I think the issue is with the release that FSL made in this particular case. LTIB itself will run on any reasonable distro from RedHat to Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo etc.
You're welcome to ask on the LTIB mailing list, but in this particular, where there's a problem with the release BSP from Freescale you'd probably get further asking them for help.
