We are at a point now that we could make these modifications after it
comes out of Eclipse and end up with a single double clickable icon
with no external dependencies other than Java 5 - as William points
out. Putting it in a dmg is easy. Hopefully we can figure a way to
take this manual cleanup out of the loop and embed everything in
Eclipse. Guess I'll have to read the rest of that book I bought.
Well, here in Florida it is time to head home and have a beer...

How does the Eclipse packaging export work? Do you just zip up
whatever it spits out? Do you have control of those java options
that are in the Info.plist? Is there a way to add/change other
bundle settings in the export operation? Do you have control of
the organization of the bundle? (ie dropping everything inside the
bundle rather than having it alongside the bundle)
Some of this may need to be done after export. If you can change
whatever can be changed before export and drop me a zip, I can
rearrange and tweak as needed and package up a dmg for you.
Even if you use the distribution as it is, with a couple simple
additions to the Info.plist, it should be as simple as: install
Java 5 from Apple, run udig. No extra files or patches needed.

Mark,
We really need a write-up on the Wiki: "How to get uDig running on
OS/X" starting from square one, with some attached needed files,
etc. From there we can start improving our release packaging.
Initially it will be "please read the instruction page" but by the
time 10.4.3 comes out (with the fix for slow Java/Eclipse) I want
to be able to roll a dmg. We don't have in-office OS/X right now,
so everything is at a remove, your and William's help would be
invaluable.

Jesse,
Scott Bortman and I are comparing our uDigs side by side, he is
on Windows, I'm on a Mac.
We went to our wms server
http://www.flids.com/cgi-bin/ngos.cgi
On windows it loads groups, on the mac the group layers are not
visible.
I chose
World Image
State Boundaries
Political Boundaries and Cities
Can't get anything to render. Scottie is able to handle the
groups and his layers render.
