Hi,
doing the Quickstart
(http://udig.refractions.net/files//tutorials/SDKQuickstart.pdf) on
Linux (ubuntu 8, 32 bit).
Issue: at the time of writing the latest issue was the M7, not the M6
anymore. The
http://udig.refractions.net/files/downloads/branches/udig-1.2-M7-sdk.zip
is whatI'm getting, not the udig-1.2-M6-sdk.win32.win32.x86.zip.
(Do we have different SDK for different platforms?)
Got new eclipse (363 MB!)
I'm grabbing the jre1.6.0_13.linux32_gdal.tar.gz. (Potential confusion
for new users here. Why so many JREs? If I don't want to use one with
GDAL, may I use the jre1.6.0_04.linux.x86.zip? May I use my own?)
Getting delta pack.
Done. Starting the quickstart.
Finished!
Smoke test was a PostGIS layer. AOK.
Cheers,
Ugo

There is also a small checklist on this page:
Which I am going through now; if I could ask for help on the uDig SDK
Quick start Ugo that would be great (since without it the rest of the
SDK tutorials cannot be tested).
Here is the results of my own ad-hoc testing of the SDK:
1. Use *Control-Shift-T* to open up the *WebMapServer* to ensure the
geotools source code was included
This failed for me; the target platform for the SDK does include
net.refractions.udig.libs.sources but for some reason it is not working.
It has been this way for the last couple releases and any help would be
good.
1. Use *File > Import* to import the tutorial for a custom application
That worked fine; custom app runs etc...
1. Try debugging the CSVServiceTest tutorial (to ensure JUnit was
included in your SDK)
junit.framework.AssertionFailedError
at junit.framework.Assert.fail(Assert.java:47)
at junit.framework.Assert.assertTrue(Assert.java:20)
at junit.framework.Assert.assertNotNull(Assert.java:217)

org.eclipse.pde.internal.junit.runtime.UITestApplication.getApplication(UITestApplication.java:70)
at
org.eclipse.pde.internal.junit.runtime.UITestApplication.start(UITestApplication.java:38)
at
org.eclipse.equinox.internal.app.EclipseAppHandle.run(EclipseAppHandle.java:194)
1. Try exporting the custom application (to ensure everything else
was included in your SDK)
This worked fine from windows.

Hi,
The uDig 1.2-M7 is not announced yet as I hope to hear back about:
- SDK Quickstart (does this work for anyone?)
- Custom App Tutorial (the real test of an SDK)
- Walkthrough 1
- Walkthrough 2
If you have a moment to test please reply to this email; and indicate
what you are going to test (so we don't duplicate effort).
I offer to do either the quickstart or the custom app in either
windows xp or linux. I'll wait for others to answer, then I'll pick one.
Cheers,
Ugo
