Hi, I'm looking to create my first standalone eclipse rcp+ udig app. It's very simple actually consisting of a view for insert update delete and select operations to a postgis DB and another view for rendering geospatial data(points pretty much). Some of my colleagues are using jpa in their apps (non-geospatial unlike mine). I'm also looking to use jpa(or native hibernate api if I really must) + hibernate spatial, for some extra points(and of course a very good grade). While using just jpa + hibernate spatial does seem fairly easy, adding geotools and udig to the mix does not .It still looks doable 'till my deadline however.
My questions are (inspired by this very very old post http://lists.refractions.net/pipermail/udig-devel/2008-May/011029.html) : 1)Do I have to create my own geotools datastore? 2)Do I have to create my own renderer? Any other things I should do,tips/pointers/hints? Maybe some other easier or faster solution? Any other suggestions are invaluable, especially from those who have already used these products/technologies together. Thanks in advance
