From mailinglist: "I tried the udig 1.4 snapshot and got a problem importing tif or ecw in the Catalog.
If you use drag and drop in the Catalog or in the Map View, uDig seems to not recognize these formats, the data will be correctly imported if you use the complete Import wizard from the Catalog Icon: Import -> Data -> Files -> ..."
Also it seems that dragging of shapefiles directly to the layerview doesn't work any more. They are added to the catalog only and one has to drag them from there.
