Tested (on Windows 7 64bit) with a fresh checkout from git master and a fresh target platform setup (followed the SDK Guide at http://udig.github.com/docs/dev/SDKQuickstart/SDKQuickstart.html). Started udig.product from IDE and same behavior like mentioned in issue UDIG-1968 :( Maybe we should switch over to IRC to sort out the difference...
