please post on our dev ML at https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/eagleusb-dev/ telling us your modem/ISP, the result of lsusb, and perhaps giving a link to the driver you use for windows. and you can have a look at the archives to see how we took into account the eagle-usb III chipset People at ADI & Sagem have subscribed to the ML, so they may help. If a new firmware is not needed, just modify appropriate lines in eagle-usb.h and eu_firmware.h and it should work. Let us know if it works so that we update the driver.
