I can't recall why. This might be worth debugging. I reverted to the driver included with the kernel, and that works fine ever since. It was actually automatically loaded when my modem was hooked up during boot. Now that you figured out how to do lsmod and insmod/modprobe, how about trying that again? Fedora even provides a 2.6.18 kernel for FC5 (in Updates), which has the newest ueagle-atm driver. (BTW, have those recent fixes been commited upstream yet?
