I think "color decay" is text invented by me to describe a despeckling
parameter. The algorithm tries to redistribute excessive color but
sometimes this doesn't work out: in that case the excessive color value
can be partially removed but this is destructive: color is lost. Somehow
it reminded me of radioactive decay and I needed to pick a term which
would make clear that a value of zero is ok, that no color would be lost
in that case.
