I would also like to pitch in at this time :-)
Even i am on the hunt for a working vbox for solaris(as host).
The latest 1.6.2 i downloaded apparently throws up the same message that is
posted by Anand.
So i tried downloading the OSE version of it and i found out that it
required a newer version of xml C parser than the one i had.....
I have so far downloaded all the versions of virtualbox
VirtualBox-1.6.2-SunOS-amd64-r31466.pkg
Opensolaris AMD 64
but this is all get

Then build am using is b83

Probably you installed 64 bit virtualbox but you are running 32 bit Solaris.
Boot into 64 bit to verify if this is the case.
If your processor does not support 64 bit (!!), then install 32 bit
virtual box (named as 'Solaris 10 OS, x86')
