Experts here may be well aware of this problem (or something similar). When I run XMMS (which i've installed using the blastware pkg-get) from any kind of launcher (from the main menu or from a desktop launcher), it does not load the custom 'skin' I've chosen (currently the winamp skin, its cool), but when I run it from the command line it loads the skin fine. I reckoned this might be a problem due to the user access permission problems (since I am running opensolaris 2008.05 and I can't be root), so I have chmod 777'd and chown angad'd /opt to relax any kind of file access restriction to installed software.
