Has anyone tried to install any OpenSolaris distro on SATA drives ? A friend asked me a question, and I realized that till date, I've installed on mostly IDE drives.
I recall install OpenSolaris build 55 and build 66 (with Xen bits included) on Dell D490s which had SATA controllers as well as on-board STA. I'd not faced any problem at all at that time. However, I see this URL http://www.sun.com/io_technologies/sata/SATA0.html and it talks about SATA not being completely supported. -- Sriram
