[ug-bosug] Solaris Troubles!!

hi everyone..
i'm facin a wierd problem with my solaris installation. I
have installed it on a secondary hard disk...its working absolutely
fine except one thing..its not shutting down..th shut down option in
GNOME is just not working!!!can anebody tell me as to what the problem
can be..?????
