Sorry for the second mail, but thought I'd add another comment or two On Sat, 2007-03-31 at 01:53 +0530, Ravindra Harige wrote: > wouldn't it be good to put same effort for working on core project > (which is cross-platform compatible)?? > just a thought.
On the contrary, the job of most bindings, is to simplify your work when designing a GUI. If you're going to write your GUI (using GTK, or even generally) in an unmanaged, structured language, then things are going to be tough and messy. But, if you're using a managed, object oriented langauge, then things will be really clean and easy to handle. The amount of work you need in generating a non-trivial GUI using GTK's C interface, is not even a joke! But consider using something like PyGTK or GTK# or even Java-GNOME; life becomes *much* easier. And then, add Glade to it all and you get really fast, reliable, native looking Rapid Application development! The kind that Microsoft's .NET offers for Windows. Only, GTK is waay more crossplatform than .NET's winforms, much easier to use(note: this is highly debatable!) and integrates well with a lot more environments!
