I use KDE. .And I faced zero problems with the GUI environment. I didn't have the time to find out the exact model number, etc of the MacBook, because this colleague just gave me the laptop and walked away to attend some code review. I'll ask him for details and post that to the list. I think it's worth getting a Mac because we get to stay in touch with OSX, as well as run Solaris, Linux and Windows (VMWare or a direct install) on a Mac. -- Sriram
