I would like to thank everyone who tuned up to last week's talks, to
make it such a great event and hope you all enjoyed it and took
advantage to socialise with like minded people. Information about those
talks and many previous talks can be found at http://www.losug.org.uk
It is time to look forward to future events in 2011 and I can tell you
that we have already secured great speakers for the next 2 months, so
stay tuned for the announcements.
We are now looking for topics for future events so if you would like to
hear speakers in specific areas then please let us know, since we are in
a position to ask our Oracle liaison to see if we can have a Solaris
expert to speak. As always, it is good to ask, but it is also import for
our members to step forward and volunteer to speak themselves.
We have had a good mix of technical talks aimed at all levels,
informative talks and Solaris life experience talks, so if you feel that
you can give a talk for anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes then please get
in contact with any of the leaders or all of us at lead...@losug.org.uk.
We will be happy to give any advice and encouragement.
We have a list of possible subjects, but at the end of the day it is
your User Group so you can talk about anything.
* Building Enterprise Storage Solutions with ZFS
* Free Software options on Solaris& Open Solaris
* The case for other free O/S like FreeBSD
* Real World Dtrace
* Single Sign On with Active Directory
* Debugging Deep Dive with MDB, ZDB, etc
* Patching Strategies
* Security & Auditing on Solaris
* Building an Open Solaris Distribution from source
* Enterprise Solaris - notes from the field
* Administrating large Solaris installs
* Sun Cluster / Clustering with Solaris
Giving a talk is a very rewarding experience that is beneficial to all
and at the end of the day if I can do it then I am sure you can do it....
You can contact the leaders by emailing: lead...@losug.org.uk
Thanks
