Solaris 11 Serviceability Best Practices
========================================
Oracle Solaris 11 provides many facilities to help you when a problem has occurred. With the focus on optimising the lifecycle of your Oracle Solaris infrastructure to make it easier to maintain, this month's talk provides an insight into the best way to install, configure, and update your systems to identify when there has been a problem, and gather data to help solve it. Technologies to be discussed include:

          Autoinstaller
          Automatic service request generation
          Service Management Facility
          Notifications
          Configuration
          Oracle Support tools
          Oracle Solaris configuration options
          Managing package versions to minimize downtime
          Version-lock facets
          Shared/secure shell access

Chris Beal is a Senior Principal Engineer working within the Systems organisation at Oracle.
