Hi all,

Before we all get too excited about this, let's just take breath and a moment.

The group name is NOT changed - yet. (Regardless of how the good folks at Oracle refer to us.) Nor can 'management' dictate the name of the group. Darko is acting under *his* management's direction - so don't hate on him. (at least not for this! ;)

**But**... It's certainly time we thought about what MSOSUG stands for. (Both the initials, and the intent of the group)

My take is that we could just as well be

Melbourne Solaris (and) Oracle Systems User Group.

MSOSUG

It's absolutely core to what we typically discuss and what I believe to be important to the vast majority of folks in the group, pays homage to the original name and intent of the group, and saves me from constantly making errors when referring the the group. :)

Thoughts?

Nathan.

Hi all,

The new name is MOSUG (Melbourne Oracle Solaris User Group). - Management Direction.

But as Nathan said, we could have kept it the same and had the extra 'S' be Systems.

Cheers,
Darko.
