Ok. I've split off a copy of my rpool. (which was at the latest
version - for snv151a - 22). ZFS for rpool/ROOT/* was at version 4 for
ZFS. I tried upgrading to 5. No difference.

I did boot off of the usbstick, and tried to import the rpool - interesting:

root@solaris:~# zpool import -f rpool2
cannot import 'rpool2': invalid vdev configuration

root@solaris:~# zpool import
  pool: rpool2
    id: 10208895883526850012
 state: UNAVAIL
status: The pool was last accessed by another system.
action: The pool cannot be imported due to damaged devices or data.
   see: http://www.sun.com/msg/ZFS-8000-EY
config:

        rpool2 UNAVAIL insufficient replicas
          c3t0d0s0 UNAVAIL corrupted data

(Also the controller number has changed from 8 down to 3, but I'm not
expecting that to be a problem.

Now this is annoying, because it wasn't corrupt when I "zpool split" it.

So - How to scrub a non-imported zpool and then mark clean?
