Africa Online clients get internet identity
Africa Online, fast gaining a reputation for innovations for
their customers, has launched Domain Name Registration for
its dial-up customers in Uganda.
A domain name is an Internet identity, which you choose for
your web address or E-mail address.
For instance instead of your address being
[EMAIL PROTECTED] you may choose to register a domain name for it to
become [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The range of domain name extensions includes, co.ug for
commercial agencies, ac.ug for academic institutions, and
.or.ug for organizations like NGOs depending on the your
industry and choice.
Explaining the benefits of the Domain Name Registration
Africa Online dail-up sales manager, Kenneth Kabagambe,
said, "Domain Name Registration offers two major benefits,
firstly, every user will have their own internet identities,
which reinforces their unique brands and business activities.
Consequently, a name that matches the organisation's
products/services will attract more business through
call/walk-ins.
Secondly, departments, employees and other members can
register personal addresses at their organization's domain,
for example sales(@)xyz. co.ug or info(@)xyz.co.ug."
Kabagambe explained that there is no limit to the number of
E-mail addresses a user can create on their domain.
Extra E-mail addresses may or may not attract extra costs
depending on the set-up that a user requires. The
registration will be completed within 24 hours after payment
and it will cost only $ 30 for a year.
This year Africa Online has introduced a number of value
added services exclusive to their customers including an
anti-virus solution on their server, to protect customers'
