Nsenene may be small but tough
John Ken-Lukyamuzi
I refer to Lukyamuzi vs Museveni Like Nsenene vs
Elephant (Oct. 22).
The contents of that letter are hardly new to me.
However, much as the nsenene is smaller than the
elephant, the former can kill the eye of the latter.
After winning the bush war, President Museveni vowed
to stay in power for only four years. He also promised
to buy State House furniture from Kawempe in support
of the local industry. If he didn't live to that
expectation, why should Nabendeh Wamoto think that he
cant manipulate the system to remain around come
2006?
Wamoto would like to know why I should only join the
ring after Museveni has chosen to stay in 2006.
Winston Churchill may not have been the best Prime
Minster of Britain during the Second World War era.
However, in Churchill was a man of adventure,
perseverance and courage. It is that type of strategic
fighter Britain needed at the point in time.
Similarly, I may not be the best leader and, mark you,
I am not ambitious but should the man remain around
come the year 2006, I may be the best person to
effectively take him on.
Wamoto's letter implies that without Museveni, things
cannot move, and Uganda cannot be stable. If you
cannot do away with Museveni after 2006, you must
accept that all is not well today. Let Political space
be opened to enable fresh leadership emerge. The time
is now.
