SAGARA'S WACKY WORLD
Our parliament is fast becoming a haven of idlers who sit in there to deliberate issues that are not pertinent to the development of this nation but rather to the development of their inflated egos.
We work our asses silly to pay these MP's salaries (read pay taxes) only for them to go and use our money as an arsenal to demand for sex from their fellow parliamentarians-According to Minister Miria Matembe.
Probably weary of seeing this happen with impunity, Matembe recently went public and urged her male colleagues in Parliament to stop 'begging' for sex.
By the way, she was not acting! She was serious. Mbu her male counterparts should look at her as a colleague in parliament (perhaps not as a colleague in bed!)
As you would expect, she caused a lot of uproar from the male Parliamentarians who asked her to explain what she meant when she said that.
However, Miria Koburunga Matembe is not one to be intimidated so easily. She has stuck to her guns and is standing by her statement.
As the speaker of Parliament is still waiting for the firebrand legislator to defend herself, I am here dying of laughter at this whole circus. I sincerely don't think any of those male MPs are making advances at matembe, unless they don't know her.
Just the mention of her name sends shivers down spines. One would really be mad to begin behaving funny with someone whose most famous political statement is: "CASTRATION FOR MEN!"
If what the honourable minister alleges is true, then I give up on all male members of parliament - They are haaarrrd!
I just cannot decipher how one would walk up to a respectable female MP and start those lewd suggestions. I mean, most of these female parliamentarians are too serious to take those advances and Matembe's name alone gives rapists and promiscuous folks goose pimples and you still kulemerako (stick to the point)? Kyokka these male MPs, nga they are brave!
But on the other hand, what is wrong with a man (MP or not) making advances toward a person of the opposite sex? There are a number of single MPs in Parliament. What's wrong if they turn the house into their hunting ground and succeed?
My people in Jonam County, Nebbi district have for a long time been urging me to stand for MP and I have been politely turning them down.
With afterthought, I hereby declare my intentions to stand in 2006 (Be afraid Hon. Jachan Omach).
I believe that I will still be single by that time and I want to get my future wife in Parliament.
I will have been voted in by the people and my mate (Hon. Somebody) will also be voted in by the people so.... What the people have put together, no Matembe shall put asunder!
I want to see how Matembe will come between my future mate and me and begin nosing into our affairs.
I mean we will have agreed with my mate to be together without any form of duress, intimidation or rigging.
Mukyala Matembe, there's what we call a gentleman's agreement, where one party exhibits the demand for love and another party opts to supply it in abundance.
It should not be your problem who's sleeping with who - Ask the VP, Dr. Specioza Wandira Kazibwe! (Her words not mine).
We surely do not want to see MPs having to keep their affairs secret because Matembe's prying eyes are on rampage.
We want things to be in black and white just like Hon. Francis Babu and Hon. Margaret Zziwa or Hon. Nobert Mao and the London don, Ogenga Otunnu who fought over Naomi or even my friends Hon. Andraule Awuzu and his pretty young thing (PYT).
