Intelligence Lays Off 20 Secret Agents

ABOUT 20 informers attached to the Joint Security Organisation (JSO) at Entebbe International Airport, have been laid off as part of the review of operations at the hub, reports Grace Matsiko.
The spies failed to satisfy a joint security panel set up to look into the operations of the JSO during an interview held last week, an official said yesterday.
The official said some of the agents lacked proper academic qualifications, military training and were dubiously recruited.
JSO chief Saleh Tambwe said, They were called to give information about themselves but definitely not everybody that was interviewed will be brought on board.
He declined to disclose the number of spies affected, saying the final list would be out anytime.
No one has been sacked. If someone claims he was sacked, he should produce his appointment letter, Tambwe said.
