Adrisi Raps Kony
By James Odong
THE former vice-president in Idi Amin Dadas government, Mustafa Adrisi, has condemned the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) rebels for massacring unarmed civilians.
He said the heinous act was a manifestation of the LRA leader Joseph Konys lack of political agenda.
Kony is purporting to be fighting to be the leader of Uganda but what kind of people will he rule when he is killing everybody like that? Will he be the leader of trees? Adrisi asked.
He was yesterday speaking at the Presidents Office during a meeting with the minister for the Presidency, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, at Parliament Buildings.
Adrisi said he doubted whether Kony was a true Acholi, saying if he was, he would not be committing attrocities against his own people.
He expressed appreciation of the Governments peace team, saying the Presidents move was testimony that the Movement government was interested in the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
He challenged Kony to demonstrate his willingness to talk peace with the government by naming his peace team.
Bukenya described Adrisis visit as a routine one for exchanging ideas on how Uganda should be run for the development of all Ugandans.
This is one of the regular meetings we normally hold with this elderly statesman who has given genuine support to President Yoweri Museveni and the Movement government efforts to develop this country and we in government are very grateful to him, Bukenya said, as Ardrisi nodded in agreement.
The healthy-looking Adrisi, was dressed in a dark-grey suit, pink shirt and matching neck-tie.
