Mr. Mitayo,
It is called "corporate welfare" and you are spot on in this one! It is the worst kind of public theft anywhere!

Perhaps we too should not look at Senator Lott's racist outburst in academic terms.
Not long ago here J. Ssemakula was taunting Bro. Roy Walker about his aversion to people who choose to depend on wellfare rather than seek an honest job.
This wellfare bashing has always been directed towards African Americans.
To state my position clear, I probably more than Ssemakula is very much opposed to wellfare junkies.
Now who are these wellfare junkies?
In my hometown here here, Masssey-Fergursion announced that they could not sustain their operations anymore. They entered into negotiations with public officials and it was agreed that they be given US$400 million to help them out so as to save jobs. They cashed the cheque, and three months down the road they said they really had to close the plant.
The periodic handouts to Ford, GM etc... are beyond count.
This kind of practice is so widespread that you and me can come with countless examples.
It indeed can also be found right at home in Uganda.
We go to Inernational money lenders and borrow money and you hear that this year Madvhani has been given a grant of US$40 million to help him produce sugar etc...
Justice Julia Ssebutinde has just discovered that Mukwano took hold of soap making ingredients worth US$16 million, from the US Govt, advanced to the people of Uganda after mu7 had come in. He never paid. We added that too to our debt.
This goes on with Kareem and many others ....
The free-market song is just a hollow song.
Wellfare junkies are riding on the backs of peoples everywhere. And how do they cover their backs? By spewing out racist rant like we see from the ! likes of Senator Trent Lott.
