The Intelligence Officer in Charge of Operation Fist, Lt. Col. Charles Otema
backed by politicians who lost elections are linking rebels to Reform Agenda,
Aswa MP Okumu has said.
"Lt. Col. Otema and many political hooligans who lost elections are now
turning their anger on the reform agenda people...," Okumu said who is also
Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Culture in the Reform Agenda told a press
conference, Tuesday at Parliament.
He said Reform Agenda is not preparing for war as some people are claiming.
He said government should seek dialogue with reformists instead of pushing
them to the wall.
Okumu was reacting to claims by Minister of Health Jim Muhwezi
that (Rtd) Col. Kizza Besigye's supporters were plotting war at secret night
meetings in Rukunguri.
Muhwezi was launching Mparo Health Centre in Kabale on Sunday.
Okumu said Col. Otema uses his position to arrest innocent civilians. He said
66 people have been illegally detained in Gulu barracks.
"If Col. Samson Mande and Anthony Kyakabaale went to war it's not reform
agenda...," he said.
