US warns of Africa 'terror risk'
The US State Department has issued a new warning to its citizens in east Africa to be on the alert for possible terrorist acts.
The State Department said it had received unconfirmed information there could be another rocket attack in Kenya, possibly in the capital, Nairobi, similar to the unsuccessful attempt to down an Israeli airliner near Mombasa . It also said there was a general risk of attacks in other east African countries - especially Djibouti - from unspecified terrorist movements. The State Department told American citizens to be particularly vigilant in public places like hotels and shops frequented by foreigners, where security was not as high as official buildings.
