VP Gives Up Dancing
VICE-PRESIDENT Speciosa Kazibwe has quit dancing, one of her favourite hobbies. She now concentrates on watching CNN and the new Discovery channel television stations, writes Solomon Muyita.
She told a Church congregation led by Fr. Joseph Archetti at Our Lady of Africa Church in Mbuya, that she had gone for prayers in the company of two relatives to her estranged husband, Eng. Charles Kazibwe.
She said, Talking about family forgiveness, I have come along with Mr. Kazibwes sister and brother (Olivia and Tony), she said, asking them to stand up for recognition. Tony is attached to her press unit. He filmed the church service.
Before Kazibwes remarks, Kaberamaido woman MP Mary Amado had called for forgiveness . She said there was need to promote peace, starting from the family.
Aruu county MP Odonga Otto, Aswa countys Reagan Okumu and Jonam Constituency MP Fred Jochan-Omach Mandir, also attended the Christmas prayers.
Kazibwe on March 15, while addressing Uganda Women Parliamentarians Association at Hotel Equatoria, said she had separated with her husband after he beat her.
The VP, who also came with three of her children, Caroline, Kato and Julian, excited hundreds of christians who flocked the midday Mass.
She narrated to the congregation a story of a butterfly which telecast by the Discovery Channel.
They say this butterfly sends out waves that cause hurricanes to different parts of the world.
Kazibwe, who was dressed in a purple long dress, said the lesson from the butterfly was that architects of hate do not necessarily live in the areas of conflict.
You may find that the originators of conflicts in Acholi are actually here in Kampala and not in Acholi land, she added.
Fr. Archetti, who led the prayers, urged Christians to teach their children to live the Christian lifestyle to promote peace. Ends
