President Yoweri Museveni has instructed Chief of Military Intelligence Col. Noble Mayombo to hold talks with the Sudanese People Liberation Army (SPLA) rebels in order to stop their combatants from entering Uganda with guns.
The MP for Aringa county, Othuman Alonga, said Museveni issued the directive recently during a meeting with the West Nile parliamentary caucus in Gulu.

He was Wednesday addressing Yumbe district council.
He said the SPLA are using their guns to threaten people and loot inside Yumbe district. During the stormy council sitting, LC-V chairman Rashid Yiga trimmed his executive by two members. He remains with only three.
Yasin Miria, former secretary for Finance, and former secretary for Education Sauda Buga Isaka were forced to resign.
